    You don't need a dang license if you're not fishing. It doesn't matter what good cause the money goes toward!

        This right here. Better safe than sorry! I taught the cub scout belt loop and pin for fishing (their version of the BSA merit badge) for our pack. We had a couple of wardens come talk to the group. They said that if you are of age (16 I think it is) and you touch any part of the rod/reel/line while the line is in the water you're technically fishing and should have a license. That would also go for netting the fish because you are assisting getting it out of the water while it's on the line. Buy yourself a license and fish with her! Have fun!
