First, unless it was in writing, then I'd be skeptical of any sales person that says if it isn't in, you will get it for you for free. How much was this mattress to begin with?

As far as the free mattress goes, unless you made a serious effort to go pick it up (not just waited on the call), I'd be real happy with the $100 off. That seems about fair for him forgetting to call, to me at least.
Went and picked it up for them, salesman said it was there on Wednesday, he said he saw where SIL had called and he did not call him back, said his fault, should had made time to call, he did give me a $100 bill to give them back and said he was sorry, I shuck his hand and said thanks.
