    And Like a Good Neighbor

Got my insurance renewal for one of the weekend homes today. Up 25% Has Obama gotten into the insurance industry on homeowners policies? What gives with the huge increase? No claims so that can't be it. Are all the insurance companies jacking up their rates or just State Farm? I guess it's time to go insurance shopping.

Just about everything for us went up, we have farm bureau. Fortunately, our agent gave us a heads up several months before the hike. After shopping around we couldn't really find comparable coverage for the rates we were paying.

It's to cover all the hail, flood and tornado damage Texas has experienced this year. Even if you didn't have a claim you can expect an increase.

Just the price you have to pay for home ownership

Go shopping. You will be amazed at the difference in price of the quality insurance companies. Some companies jack up rates because they had heavy exposure in areas where there was a disaster and a bunch of loss. Never hurts to look.

This. Just because one person didn't have a claim doesn't mean 100,000 other people that cost the insurance carriers a billion dollars or more didn't.

So we have socialized insurance. Those of us that have enough sense not to live in a flood prone area have to pay for those that do. I knew it was Obama's fault.

Yeah we're forced by law to have it. They can increase our premiums when ever they decide to. All the while they're purchasing naming rights to sports stadiums and buying luxury suites, on our dime. Yeah, were getting hosed and there's nothing we can do about it. All in the name of hail, or flood or tornado. Bast#*ds!
