I know a guy with a 800 EFI with low hours but it's along way from you very clean and loaded. It's in the Houston area.

My friends and I ran Polaris for many years. They are good vehicles and I don't agree with the comments on them not being smooth.

I just bought a Honda 1000 Deluxe and I will never go back. It has a six speed auto trans and I just love it.

      No more belts for me.

I also agree with SwampRanger about all the places the mud can stick in. They are hard to clean out when you have been in mud. My Honda cleans up underneath with no problem.

My stock Ranger with 28" tires was like a caddy.
Not sure if your buddies are aware of it or not but you can adjust the settings of the shocks on the Mule. There are several settings you can change to make it ride the way you like. My BiL was a little soft and had some roll to it and we adjusted them to the stiffest setting and it made a world of difference. I have rode in plenty of Rangers and hace yet to find one that rides like the Mule.

Sorry for the stupid question that is not relevant to the discussion but what kind of critter is that in the back? Can't figure it out.

If the OP isn't interested, I'd like a little more info. My parents are in the market. New ones just cost to much for a retired budget.

Lol. It's a crappy picture of the south end of a north bound cow elk. Product of a 11pm retrieval after tracking a mule deer and having some celebratory whasky with never been out of state hunters. Was a good time!!

Polaris crew 900xp. I can take it anywhere a regular cab will go, it's the smoothest riding sxs I have rode in. The single cabs ride like a tank compared to the crew. Imo a lift and bigger tires should be put on them right away. They come with very little ground clearance.

Wellllllll, I did it.... Bought me one!!! I was pretty set on a 570XP, but came across a 900XP that was too good to pass up. I really appreciate all the help and opinions you guys provided! Now I need a roof ASAP! It's hawwwwttt out there!

I don't want to spend a fortune but would like a metal roof with maybe a rack on top, any suggestions!? Don't need to be fancy, cheaper the better

570 rangers have like 3 less hp then the 900 or 800s their also geared lower and have less turf mode problems

                          Momma took care of me!

Ok, posted this in classifieds, brain fart...so if you saw it there it was a first for me putting a thread in the wrong place!

My wife just bought this from my TBH son who bought it from another TBH'R about 2 years ago. My son found a cheap Ford Ranger 4x4 with AC/Heat and did not need the Ranger anymore. So...I need help sometimes with my lousy joints selling land so she surprised me with this! It's a 2009, original pic when my son bought it, needs cleaning up but it will dang sure work for me and runs like a top. I've had Mules, Club Car UTV's but I'm really looking forward to using this when I need it. Well below the original post's budget by over $4K.

Looks nice. Take the seat out of the bed. If you look no Polaris dealership will have them in their show room. Lots of law suits have came from them. Even with the locks and wire I watched four girls flip out the back of a ranger last March. Could of been a bad day.

Good advice...the bed seat is all welded in with seat belts, but I'm checking on what type of liability insurance I can get regardless if it had the seat or not. When I had my own Land Agency before, I carried insurance to protect me from clients injury.

With a law suit crazy environment, we are forced to think about this!

                                *Update*

So I got with a friend who wanted to help make a custom roof for my 900 and another friend who pitched in a old basket from the old roll bars we had to retro-fit.... Put a mid size light bar across the back and waiting for a big one to go on top. Added a 2" receiver hitch the top back as well for a winch or cargo rack.

Now I want to add some speakers but want to keep it simple. Like something I can just Bluetooth my phone too or by using a cord, like a portable sound bar of sorts... Ideas??
