You can't see his pupils for positive identification but you can tell he has some serious teefs. See what I mean about friendly? He's cheesin it for the camera.

The snake was right around 5 foot. Not huge but not small by any means. He was plenty strong, that I can promise you.

Yes, at that size handling them gets interesting.

Yeah he thrashed around when I picked him up. It freaked one of my buddies out. He was yellin "Put him down! You don't have him good enough!" I knew I did though. I don't grab 'em unless I have a good enough grip to where they can't get loose and hook me with a fang. He was just overreacting, everything was fine. It wasn't the first time I'd won that rodeo. Maybe the first time I had done it while someone was yelling at me though.lol

What gets mee is how they wrap the forearm and try to pull their head back through your hand.

                      Cool snake!!!

I dislike snakes a lot! However, I was lucky enough to see a mojave sunning on a road in Big Bend a few years ago.

He just kind of thrashed around and got himself in a bind on purpose to try to get enough leverage to pull himself out of my hand. I grabbed him by about the middle of his body and got him straightened out. I didn't have any trouble after that. I think once he realized he couldn't twist around and bite me or pull himself out of my hand he gave up fightin me as much.

Found a Mohave on a trail in big bend about 3 years ago. Only one I've ever seen. He was pretty pissy and didn't like being messed with. I'll try and find the video and post it

I've heard those Mojaves are pretty irritable. I'd imagine they're about like a Prairie Rattler. Those things generally strike non-stop when you get them cornered.
