WE have one here in Lubbock and they are building another on the south side of town. they came out with a add flyer in the paper yesterday putting a Masterbuilt 40" smoker with the window in front on sale for $249 and I went up to get one this morning and they do not have a single one in stock. Typical to get you in the store and then try to sell you another model. I am going to wait and check every morning and if they do not get one in before the sale goes off, the manager and headquarters will be getting nasty email or letter. Not the first time I have done that to Academy. First one was over taking my checks at the store!

I have gotten a few things discounted at the plano Academy before. I got a trail camera that somebody had switched the box on and put a more expensive one in a cheaper box. I saw it wasn't the right one in the box and ended up getting an $89 trail camera for $9! I went back over and made sure there wasn't anymore like that before I left haha

I was in Academy one day and saw some ammo a friend of mine had been looking for. Took a picture of the price and went to send it to him when a rude employee informed me they don't allow pictures in the store. I told him why I was doing it and he reiterated no pictures. I had almost $500 in merchandise in my arms that I left on the floor for him to restock.......no I don't care if you think that was childish. It made me feel better.Comment

Our Academy in Humble just got a remodel. I have a feeling they're bracing themselves for the new ****'s Sporting Goods being built at the malls in Humble and The Woodlands.
