WOW, that is bad business! I would be embarrassed to have that reputation but I guess not if habit continues. Guess he has enough money to not care. Glad you found someone!

First off, I hate to hear that y'all had that experience. I couldn't imagine not showing up for a trip. I hope you are out with a quality guide this morning, fishing has been pretty good for us lately down here. Looking forward to some fish pics.
Lefty,
I'm afraid if you are paying for 5 fish and 4 hours of fishing you have been missing out on what it's really all about. Filling the freezer with fish can be done at the store in about 30 minutes for way less money than a guided trip. Guides in my opinion are responsible for way more than just trying to put fish in the box. It's our responsibility to provide a safe trip that can educate folks on how to catch more fish, what to look for, how/where to safely navigate your boat, be personable, and lastly, stay on fish or pre-fish to give the customer the best chance at catching fish while on their trip. Many times we have been surrounded by hundreds of fish in a flat and folks just can't catch them. Or, there are people that think they know what & how to fish and refuse to listen to the guide and therefore lose or miss bites/fish. What you get out of a guided trip or what you expect out of a guided fishing trip, typically can indicate what type of person you really are. I'll get off my soap box but try to remember this...give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for life. If people would go into a trip with that expectation most folks would pay more money than the current trip rates for that.Last edited by stickman; 06-24-2016, 08:42 AM.

Glad you got a replacement. And a good guide is worth the money. We've hired guides in areas we fish regularly on our own...they know more than I do and I can take the lessons with me for life id like to hire one for every season eventually to learn all the tactics on the areas of water that I "know" already
