My HEB here in Helotes just introduced curbside service. You go online and order your groceries, set a time to pick them up, and then just pull up where they have them ready to go. They load them up and you drive away. They are not allowed to accept tips and the service is 4.95 per use. This is going to save me a ton of time. We just add things to the cart as we see the need throughout the week, check out online, and pick up groceries on the way home from work. Love it.

I don't see this catching on.
The day I would try it the idiot in front of me would go through every bag and say this isn't the right one, take these back, where are the beans, here are 49 coupons. 20 minutes later I would have already been home with everything I needed just going in.
Or I give it a shot. Every thing goes great. I get home and the toothpaste is missing. I still have to go back and get it myself.

I was in a Publix over here the other day and noticed a guy doing personal shopping like this. He was a mid-level Publix Mgr. before retirement. Now he does Advocare, some type of TIPS or referral business and this shopping service. He said he makes more than he did with Publix, still gets in the stores and enjoys that and has his own schedule.
His business is getting orders through the Company, filling the order, and delivery to the purchaser.
I doubt I will ever have someone buy my groceries but can see how people make money doing this.
