    HEB curbside service

My HEB here in Helotes just introduced curbside service. You go online and order your groceries, set a time to pick them up, and then just pull up where they have them ready to go. They load them up and you drive away. They are not allowed to accept tips and the service is 4.95 per use. This is going to save me a ton of time. We just add things to the cart as we see the need throughout the week, check out online, and pick up groceries on the way home from work. Love it.

Ours in Houston (by our old home) does as well. Never used it but figured it would be great for people that hate the crowds and great for older folks. My dad would have been all over it since he had trouble getting around.

The one I'm speaking of would also deliver.

    HEB rocks.

This would save me a ton of money. Every time I go into HEB, which is often, I spend way too much. I'd save a lot if I was forced to go off a list rather than browse every aisle like I currently do. Not to mention the time savings would be well worth the fee.

The Walmart in Grapevine have this. They took away about 8-10 up front parking slot for this and I have yet to see anyone there.

Me? I always like going in with 10 items on my list and coming out with 50. LOL

I want an HEB in the Grapevine area sooooo bad.

Ours doesn't offer that yet. But we use the app for our list. It helps because it list things in the order that they are on the aisles at the specific store you choose. Sure saves time for those of us who don't know where everything is.

Are you folks using this service purchasing fruits and vegetables?? I am not sure I would like someone else choosing those items for me.

                I'd starve doing this.

I wander around and buy what looks good at that moment.

HEB quality is one thing we really miss in retiring to the country. Lufkin has an HEB but it is no comparison to the ones in the Houston area.

Not for me. I'm choosing my own food. Plus I'm too frugal to pay somebody $4.95 to do something I can do myself. It's also good exercise trying to find where you wife went to in the store.

I don't see this catching on.

The day I would try it the idiot in front of me would go through every bag and say this isn't the right one, take these back, where are the beans, here are 49 coupons. 20 minutes later I would have already been home with everything I needed just going in.

Or I give it a shot. Every thing goes great. I get home and the toothpaste is missing. I still have to go back and get it myself.

We cancelled ours because they will not deliver alcohol. Yup.

I was in a Publix over here the other day and noticed a guy doing personal shopping like this. He was a mid-level Publix Mgr. before retirement. Now he does Advocare, some type of TIPS or referral business and this shopping service. He said he makes more than he did with Publix, still gets in the stores and enjoys that and has his own schedule.
His business is getting orders through the Company, filling the order, and delivery to the purchaser.

I doubt I will ever have someone buy my groceries but can see how people make money doing this.

..and Sackett's right, the melon aisle is something to behold
