Looks like you're rocking the night vision on your rifle. What type? Thermal?

No I wish. It is an ATN X-sight. I cant afford the real deal, it is one of the digital NV packages around 700 bucks. Better than any NV I had in the military back in the late 90s though. You have to keep the firmware updated or you run into issues but for the price it is awesome. If I could afford to fork out a few grand I would.

It does have 5 to 18x zoom though so you can really reach out there, it also will take videos and pictures as it is basically a camera system.

Dang J-sweet! I wouldn't mind sharing my cheese for some pork! haha.. Especially some acorn fed pigs. I shot a pen raised wild pig(50lbs) a few weeks ago and he had an inch and half back fat on him and jowls big enough to cut out. Congrats on the sow! She will be good eatin for sure!

Was it tough to BZO (sight-in)?

It has a program called the one shot zero. I would never use a one shot group to zero though but the program is pretty cool. You shoot your group and then go into the menu function and select zero setup. You then see your rectile and a green dot which you can move with the arrow buttons on top of the scope. So you then aim the cross hair onto the grouping and arrow over the green dot to your original point of aim or bullseye on the target. Select okay and the weapon is self zeroed.

It is a highly accurate way of zeroing, the only issue I have run into is its a big scope so it sits high off the weapon system which will play into trajectory when sighting in the .223 if you use that caliber. I originally sighted in at 50 and seemed good but was dropping on long range shots which with an 18x is very doable. I have since switched to a 100 yd zero and put the round right in this pigs boiler maker though not a long range shot (75 yds) and it seems more accurate to me for distances beyond.

Whatever zero works for your system and ammo is up to you.

It's easier to like them when your land is only hunting land, not AG land. I wouldn't want to have them around on our land in Mo tearing up the corn and soy bean fields.

IMO they are just like over sized rats due to the damage they cause on any land. They have been active the last couple of weeks around my house. On my neighbors place they have especially been active. I have made a couple of them buzzard bait. Good luck on clearing them out.
