Only problem I ever had with soft sided coolers was the liner.Bottle tops would poke little holes in the sides over time.Is the liner in the Yeti substantially heavier than the o.t.?

The Ozark Trail looks like the rtic softpacks but the latter have a leakproof zipper. That alone swayed me towards the rtic...needed something leak proof for when I'm bombing around in the Polaris.

I've not actually seen one of the OT bags but the liner on the Yeti is substantial.

            96 hrs both cold water

I sloshed the OT and it did leak from zipper nothing crazy, but when tipped over it really let the water loose. The liner in the OT is a middle grade I'd say some where in the middle of the yeti and a normal bag cooler. Over all I think it's safes to say ice retention is minuscule at best! Yeti has the edge in leak proofness. Although I doubt you accumulate enough water with fresh ice that if tipped over would cause huge problems. Both yeti and OT have a couple of pieces of ice left at 48 HR mark there is nothing in those two products that grant paying that much of a difference

Ok, for the next test, heres what i want to see. Real world contidions. Fill up both coolers of ice, and leave them in the backseat of your truck. Thats where mine would live if I had one. I work construction, so i go through a lot of water. Thats where the true test would be. How long does the ice last in a cooler in the back seat of my truck, with the windows cracked and windshield shades up. Still gets pretty warm in the truck.

I will tell you after this weekend how the OT holds up in raft on the Guadalupe, with me in and out of it after beers!

I bought one of the OT coolers and the liner leaked. Gonna go exchange it and see if the new one does the same thing. They also have some at the wal mart in Devine if anybody is still looking for one. It held ice great, just don't like the fact that water gets in between the liners.

Hmmm. This is the second one posted here that leaks.

I think I am going to stay away from the OT soft side cooler. Not a fan of the zipper (thanks for posting DDF) and honestly, I don't like the whole wraparound zipper concept for this type of cooler. While it makes getting ice in easier, I would rather have a straight zip, reach in, grab, straight zip back. At least for how I would tend to use it. And if I am being real honest, I don't have a real need for a soft side anyways. That being said, honestly, if YETI's hopper was $99 or less, I'd probably buy one. Their $300 price point is way over inflated.

I am still looking for a one of the smaller OT hard side coolers. And I really like the OT cups I have.

If they were readily available I would buy the Rtic soft side it seems to have the best of both
