      Yeti hopper vs Ozark trail

      80 hrs

Finally have a difference in ice the yeti has more ice than the OT at this point.

Yeti has enough ice to fill a 30oz tumbler and OT has enough to fill 1/2 a 30oz tumbler

Well, I, in no way shape or form, see anything that even remotely resembles a good reason to spend more than 60$ on either of these bags. For the record, at this point to argue that yeti is so far superior to these other brands is asinine at the least.

As far as ice retention goes, but I bet the Yeti will last a lot longer than the OT (and I did buy the OT)

I own the OT and have been quite happy with it. I'd love to own the Yeti soft cooler but can't justify it. The Yeti's zipper is leak proof. That may or may not be important to the individual but is a pretty big upgrade. One I'd like to have!

To me, it's not a big deal. The OT seems more stable at the base and the only thing that would ever be in it are drinks or sammich stuff. It's not like I'm chunking catfish in it to leak their juices all over my trucks carpet. It's water.

As far as ice retention goes. I agree. I don't think there is anything special about the YETI bag that made it retain ice better.

But there seems to be some redeeming qualities in the YETI design vs OT.

The YETI has a better zipper design. The YETI appears to be better at packing down. But here is the kicker, I still cannot justify spending 5x more for a zipper design.

I do wonder why OT didn't use a beefier zipper. If they had done that, IMO, it would be heavily weighted in OTs favor.

Walmart in Taylor has several of them.

I bought one last week and wasn't impressed with my first ice test. I also don't see how the amount they claim will fit can actually fit in the bag.

So, let me get this straight??? All you guys crying about the zipper? How many coolers have you knocked over? I think I've seen a few drunk BnLs trip over a cooler and knock it over but that was rare. Yeti are a marketing demi-god. Wally just beat them with costs. Hail to the new king OT. So there's a little sweat, don't worry your mall-rated jeep has water-proof carpet.

Man... nothing sucks worse than a zipper that is the point of failure. Whether it be a good sleeping bag ruined by a crappy zipper... a good pack... ruined by a crappy zipper, etc.

For me, the zipper has nothing to do with leaking... it has to do with how long will it hold up to zipping open and shut. (kind of like the ziplock bag comparison analogy)

That being said, I am not paying $300 for a zipper. I'd rather not spend my money on either.

Now the continued use concerns of the zipper makes sense too me. I'd agree with you about wanting to know how long it'll last?
