Not 100% sure. He's supposed to send me aerials tonight. I believe it is north of 82.

I hunt 15 minutes from honey grove. Lots of pressure in the area.

We used to own land just north of there.
Remember it being mostly rolling farm/cattle land. But has been many years since I was out there.

        Grandparents lived in Bonham.

Little confused on this.. please explain.. I get the transition from blackland to post oak, however, where is that transition? Further north post oak? or further south?

          Thanks

Highway 82 is a rough demarcation line. South of 82 not many oaks and open Prairie and blackland. North of that soil starts getting sandy the further north of hwy 82 you get and you start getting nice hardwoods and savannah type areas

Ok perfect I thought that was what you were saying, but i wanted to make 100% sure of that.

I grew up in that area and could say the same, pretty country but I'd look elsewhere for a deer lease. Not saying that they're not there but you can do a lot better by driving a couple hours in either direction on 82!

We have owned land just north of tiger town for 43 years and the hunting is ok. Had a few decent bucks over the years and now with the AR, we are seeing a lot more bucks that would have previously been shot. We get quite a few on cam and occasionally some pigs. Turkeys are there as well, just not many.

Cool deal. The guy I'm supposed to meet with has a couple of leases in Tiger Town as well. Hopefully, the rain will hold off this evening so we can take a look at a few of them.

I have a good buddy with family land in honey Grove and he has hunted hard on it and the numbers just aren't there. He lives on the land and goes else where to hunt. I think it's a little over 200 acres and almost completely wooded with a creek and a couple ponds on the place. Seems like perfect area but just not many deer
