The Fun Has Started on the New Ranch in San Saba

We closed on our ranch in San Saba last Mon so headed up this weekend to get all of our equipment out of storage in Brownwood. 1st had to get a room in Brady Fri night ,because everything was booked in Brownwood. We went straight to Brownwood & got out trailer trailer. Had a rock puncture the sidewall on a tire taking it in, so 1st thing was get it changed. While changing it the Wife went to go to the outhouse. IMMEDIATELY, hollers snake in outhouse. I ask rattlesnake ,she says I think. I didn't look long. I go look sure enough nice rattler coiled up in corner. Tell my son, go pop the snake while I finish here. 1 dead rattlesnake. Get the trailer all set up & head back to Brownwood. Get everything & get back to the ranch & take it easy for an hour or so & go set up a feeder. Wife gives the son a tour of the place while I straighten a few things up. He has never been on the ranch. We sit under the awning & watch a pretty moon come up over the hills . Got up this AM & set another 2 more feeders up & do a little weedeating & head back home. Things are starting to look better already. Headed back next weekend. Got a guy coming to give a bid on a fence & gate & wife is checking into a cabin. Can't wait. LOVE it up there. I will continue to update this thread as we continue on.

1 dead rattlesnake about 4 ft long. 1st kill on the ranch. LOL!

I'd give my left...nevermind, for 230 acres around San Saba. I'm done with it anyways.

Hello Ron, We did talk about a month and a half ago. We were talking about the place next to you.We had been watching this place in SS for awhile, but figured it wouldn't work out ,because of what we had budgeted. We decided to take one more run at it & the owner accepted our offer. We couldn't turn it down. THANKS Again!
