How far north of the border

Been looking at ranches in south Texas. Val verde, Edwards, Kimble, sutton counties. How far north do you need to be to avoid problems with illegals?

    Arctic Circle

If its not illegal aliens its illegal poachers. Odds are probably the same for both unless you're actually on the border

I hear that. I mean how far north til they're not wandering through places on foot? Poachers I'm used to. Got them everywhere. I actually have more trouble with duck hunters at our place now than anything else. Cause we're in a bow only county.

Looking at low fence places, not high fence.

For the most part they won't be through much of that country at all. Its fairly rough country and long distances between any towns

Kinda trips me out when I see a lot of these cabins on ranches with bars on everything.

We aren't far off the border at all, and we've never had any problems (knock on wood), but before the oil boom they were always coming through, not as bad now though

I don't think it's how far north but more how far east, how far from the border. I'm 60 miles and rarely have an encounter.

True. That's really what I mean. How far from before they stop being on foot and catch the bus to San Antonio and Dallas.

They don't have to sneak in any more...... Our president welcomes them!

The country you're looking in not far. It's much different than the deep S Tx areas. It's not flat country with lots of roads

I wouldn't expect anything from northern Val Verde on north

The ranch I hunt on is about 25 miles from Mexico . Been hunting it 12 years. Had them break into my travel trailer once. They managed to do it without doing any damage. They took batteries. I think they broke into several other cabin/campers in our camp. Apparently they stayed on one if the other guys cabin. Knock on wood, in twelve years that's it. They at abound. I know. Have had pics of a few guys on my camera walking by. I think most that end up at our camp are lost. Never seen one while I'm there, but if you hike into the brush you'll find old rusted out cans. I don't think our camp is on their normal route.

One if my friends had a bunch of them walk past his blind this year while hunting.

All that said, may not be something to worry about at all, I'm sure others will weigh in.
