Been looking at ranches in south Texas. Val verde, Edwards, Kimble, sutton counties. How far north do you need to be to avoid problems with illegals?

If its not illegal aliens its illegal poachers. Odds are probably the same for both unless you're actually on the border

Originally posted by mdmorrow View PostI hear that. I mean how far north til they're not wandering through places on foot? Poachers I'm used to. Got them everywhere. I actually have more trouble with duck hunters at our place now than anything else. Cause we're in a bow only county.
Looking at low fence places, not high fence.

I wouldn't expect anything from northern Val Verde on north

The ranch I hunt on is about 25 miles from Mexico . Been hunting it 12 years. Had them break into my travel trailer once. They managed to do it without doing any damage. They took batteries. I think they broke into several other cabin/campers in our camp. Apparently they stayed on one if the other guys cabin. Knock on wood, in twelve years that's it. They at abound. I know. Have had pics of a few guys on my camera walking by. I think most that end up at our camp are lost. Never seen one while I'm there, but if you hike into the brush you'll find old rusted out cans. I don't think our camp is on their normal route.
One if my friends had a bunch of them walk past his blind this year while hunting.
All that said, may not be something to worry about at all, I'm sure others will weigh in.
