My parents couldn't keep me from catching anything I could get ahold of. It was impossible to break me of it.Last edited by okrattler; 05-12-2016, 11:53 PM.

I got bit by a huge field mouse one time. It was dark and I thought a quail was trying to get out of the trap so I jumped out of the truck, ran to the trap and reached down to grab it. "It's" head was sticking out of the trap. That mouse got me on that skin right between my thumb and index finger. It clamped on and I squeezed the crap out of what I thought was a quail. I think his top and bottom teeth touched. Man it hurt. I would like to forget about that night and the pain but some fools will never let me

I got one more that I can't believe I forgot. I'm bad about remembering exact times but I'm wanting to say I was around 8 years old when it happened. I was in the yard shooting sparrows with my bb gun and I had two big tom cats at the time. I'd shoot one and Diesel my big yellow cat would run up and eat it when it hit the ground. Well I shot a sparrow and I thought my other cat Bob needed one to eat. So I grabbed the dead bird and called him over. I was gonna hand it to him and he was gonna carefully take it from me and eat it. Or so I thought.
That son of a gun reached up with his front paws and dug his claws into my arm. When he grabbed the bird with his teeth my fingers got in the way. He had the bird and me both and wouldn't let go. I started struggling quite a bit and he had a death grip and I can still remember him growling. I thought for sure he was gonna eat my fingers. I finally got him to turn loose but I was leakin like a sieve. That was by far the worst bite I ever received from a mammal. Cats are the devil when you get between them and their food.
I actually got to thinking about the same question BeetleGuy asked right after I started this thread. It's pretty crazy that I have to sit and really think about what things have hurt me the worst in my life. And that I would actually know what those animals can do. But you have to understand that from the time I was old enough to know what bugs, snakes and lizards were I was catching them. That's been my whole life. I grew up in the middle of nowhere basically and I was fascinated with anything wild. Dangerous or not it didn't matter to me.Last edited by okrattler; 05-13-2016, 12:36 AM.

I was at River Road Ice House for a concert. There is a rock wall against the stage I was leaning on. centipede popped out and got me. Not a good night after that.
I once stepped in shallow beach water onto a sting ray. I recognized right away that the ground was coming out from under me. I pulled my foot away with just enough time to where the sting ray sliced me instead of poked me. Hurt for about 2 hours. I understand it could have been much worse had the barb went in instead grazing.

I'd say mine is a toss up between an asp on the back of my neck when I was weed eating, around 12 years old. Dang thing fell out of the tree and got me right on the back of the neck. The ground hornet that got me in my bottom lip runs a pretty tight race. I was beating on a pine tree with the claw end of a hammer when I was around 6 or so. It was lights out for a split second and my bottom lip swole up over my top lip. Been bit by a black water snake once too. Got my 4 wheeler stuck and was wedging logs under it to get some traction, the dang thing grabbed a hold of my hand. I almost peed myself, I thought it was a cottonmouth, until my buddy started laughing at me and caught it. Squirrels hurt too.

X3 on the asp. Had one fall out of a tree and land on the back of my neck. When I tried to brush it off it got me good - felt like someone was holding a torch to my skin! I have also gotten popped by a cicada killer and that was like getting stabbed with a hot ice pickLast edited by jerp; 05-13-2016, 04:53 AM.
