After a few days to think about all this and just praying for God to give me peace about the situation, I am better. The fear of the unknown and my fate when I wake up from surgery still bothers me when I think about it...but I've started to shift my mind to thinking God has a purpose for this, and how I can use this as an opportunity to show people what he has done in my life. The initial shock is what I had to get over at first, and I've thought about it so much since then that I am ready to get it over with and start thinking of making progress. The past two days I haven't slept well, and I've been so sick at my stomach I haven't had much of an appetite, but today was much better. Also, the steroids I'm taking are helping to take down the inflammation, and I am gaining some strength and sensation back in my hand. Im not a doctor but I'm HOPING this is a sign that the tumor is just touching the nerve and not embedded in it.

On a side note...My dad has been having shortness of breath and chest pains lately. Finally broke down and told my mom. He Went to get an ekg and the doctor said it showed signs of a past heart attack. After feeling worse he got admitted into st lukes hospital last night for a possible artery blockage. The arteriogram came back and no blockages, but some of the capillaries were flowing slower than normal which is causing him to feel this way. He's on bed rest and should come home tomorrow. Needless to say, my family is going through a valley right now, and we could still use your continued prayers. Gonna try to enjoy some time with the family this weekend before surgery on Monday morning. My brother took emergency leave from the marines and flew in from California.

I never dreamed of the support I would have on an Internet forum with people I have never met before, but I want you guys to know how much I appreciate your prayers and concern. Thank you from me and my family.

Getting ready to head out to Houston tonight for surgery first thing tomorrow morning. Scheduled to go under the knife at 7:30 am, and the anxiety of having to drive and wait isn't the most fun thing I've done. Say another prayer for me and the fam if you get a chance. I'm just ready to get this mess over with. I've truly felt the comfort from your prayers and I appreciate it. I will update as soon as i can when I get out of ICU. Thanks again guys
