I use a 20 dollar 2.5 gallon concentrate gly from TSC with a surfactant for fence lines. Anything woody gets Remedy with Diesel.

On mesquite do you spray the trunk or whole plant?

Here is our pipeline mixture
Glyphosphate- Mix 1 gallon per 50 gallons of water
Krovar DF- Mix 6 lbs per 50 gallons
Activator 90- 1 pint per 50 gallons
Highlighter as needed

This is $110 a tank. I have been using this for 8 years spraying pipeline ROW's and it works wonders.

I know your not using enough to be extremely hazardous, our country's farmers are doing a well enough job at it...

Ouch... Do you really think the average farmer uses more then necessary? You double the rate on your half acre yard and it doesn't cost much, but do it across 1,000 acres and it adds up fast. Believe it or not we don't like wasting money any more then the next guy.

What about roundup with a little 24D mixed in? I believe you can buy 24D in a quart size without a permit.

I would be cautious if you do this around anywhere that has cropland especially cotton. I have seen authorities around my house trace it back to the exact person that sprayed the 24d and prosecuted them for crop damages. 24D can wipe out crops quickly.

People that gripe about farmers

Ground sterilizers work great if you want everything dead for years.

But, like most all Ag chemicals, it's bad about run-off and getting into creeks, rivers, streams, then into lakes....etc

I know your not using enough to be extremely hazardous, our country's farmers are doing a well enough job at it...

should think about what they are saying everytime they set down to eat.

Easy to complain about someone else until you are in their boots.

It's on the instruction leaflet. The only thing I do different is sometimes measure my remedy on the strong side.

No mesquite on my place. My battle is with the yaupon. I get the whole plant. If it's real big I've been told to cut it down with a chainsaw then use a paintbrush to cover the stump in pure remedy. Not sure about mesquite but yaupon cut down to the ground will still grow back. Hate the stuff.
