Ha. I think it's good bull, and if you knew the inside story behind it, you would see that it was a harmless practical joke on the band.

For years, the band has treated their practice field like holy ground. They have freshmen on watch 24-7 to make sure no one walks across it that is not in the band. Naturally, this gives other members of the Corps a reason to do just that. (I used to know a guy whose idea of fun was to get drunk and go stand in the middle of the field cussing the band until they came out to face him. Then, he would take on 5 or 6 guys at the same time just for fun.) Only, these guys took it a step further. Unfortunately, rather than being a simple practical joke that everyone could laugh about, they are being treated like common criminals on the news. I would feel different if they went out and killed someone's dog to do it, but what I see here needs to be laughed off.
