I once bought a dirt bike with my change jar money. I asked the guy if change was ok first and he said yes. But I think he was surprized when I showed up with actual coins. Ha ha

I'm a change hoarder. I also save all my one and five dollar bills. Cash it in once every couple of years. When we were clearing out our house in Texas I found a one gallon pickle jar full of ones and fives that I had forgot about. It came close to 1100 dollars

I keep separate containers pennies, nickles, dimes, quarters makes it easier when i'm ready to count it out and roll it. I dip into the quarters get used some for ice money though.

I have a 5 gallon water jug. All my change and $1s go in it at the end of each day. I'll occasionally throw a $5 or $10 or $20 as well.

I do it and have for years. I use it for vacation money every year. It's $500-$600 a year just from dumping pocket change when I get home from work.

Couple of years ago my mom gave me our change bucket, which is one of those big water jugs.. I counted and rolled about $2,500.

I got this cool little automated piggy bank. She's five.she'll go through my pockets like a monkey! Any change I got go into her piggy banks . We have to buy her a new one every couple of months, they tend to fill up pretty quick. I think she is up to 11 of the bigger gallon-ish size, and a bunch of the smaller ones.

I've got my kids on board with saving change. Everything goes into our "land fund" so we can buy our own piece of land in the country.

I have a bucket next to my dresser in my bedroom. Last time I came in around $400. Definitely worth keeping a bucket or jar handy for spare coins as they really do add up over type.

With that said, I find myself using cash less and less these days, so my pile doesn't grow quite like it used to.

How do you guys cash out your change? My son used the coin service at Walmart and it felt like he was getting robbed.
The wife likes rolling our coins so once the jar is full she’ll put everything into rolls and take it to the bank that week. That way not losing any money because a machine counted it for you.

Navy Federal also has a machine like the walmart type ones but it doesn’t charge anything

Yep, for years. I had about a gallon jug for mine. I upgraded to a 2.5 gallon jug and when it is full I am going to New Zealand and shoot some stuff.

Found a cache of the 40 ounce sunsweet green juice jars about 15 years ago as a kid. 3 of them are used for quarters, nickels and dimes and I have a big syrup jar that I fill with pennies. I try not to cash out unless I fill them to the brim.

The jar of quarters comes out to about $300, which I've cashed a few times. Actually bought a laptop for college with the change I had saved in those jars.
