    Sika vs Fallow?

Curious to know which meat is better. Lindsey and I might have a lucky opportunity at one of these animals in the near future and we've never eaten either meat. Is there a favorite amongst the TBH brotherhood?

I don't like sika. Don't know what it is I just don't. One of the guys I hunt with loves it. So for me the fallow.

We also have the option on red deer...I think red deer is the best I've ever had. Does fallow compare to it?

Fallow is alright. I don't understand the Sika comment. The Sika doe's I've killed tasted like elk.

Haven't had fallow so cant speak for that. Have had two sika, one old and one young buck. The backstraps were chewy on the old buck, and flavor was Pretty decent. Haven't had the young one straps yet. I ground everything else on both deer and that has been great. Haven't had red deer but I think that would be the best of the three.

I like both. You'll get more meat with the fallow. Sika tastes more like elk and fallow tastes more like deer in my opinion. Good luck on your trip!

I don't know. I just did not like it. But it didn't taste like elk either. Maybe it's my taste buds. But I like Rams so go figure.

I've eaten back straps on a Sika bull before. It was okay, I think it was more so my fault on how I cooked it. I wouldn't turn my nose up to it though, it was a decent eat.

Axis, fallow, sika, and red deer all taste about the same to me and I think they are great.

Go for the red deer! Bigger animal equals more (very good) meat.

It's all better than nilgai. That was the worst out of all of the exotics I've had.

Wife is killing a Sika Doe next month. Have 3 fridges with freezers and think I need a lot more freezer space for a Red Deer Hind.
Will let you know how the Sika eats,,,,,,,,

Seriously? First time I have ever heard anything bad about Nilgai.

See it's all opinions. I have never had nilgai. But if you read on it its at the top.

Never had fallow, but have had sika, wtd, axis, and nilgai---don't want any more nilgai, and will take sika over anything else.
