Buying a lot of extra warm clothes would be WAY better, to me, than living in Saudi Arabia.

Ha.....when I was there it was only -18 and I was so cold that my bones ached.....it took hours to warm up and I had everything I owned on. It's a different kind of cold.

That's just the little saying we have in the AF when someone gets stationed there.

But I have heard of multiple people actually having a great time up there.

I've worked in ND several times and pheasant hunted as well. It gets cold but you can dress for it. I have never met friendlier people in my life. We would just stop at a ranch house and ask permission to hunt, 9 times out of 10 they would give us permission and when they didn't they actually apologized and felt bad about it.

Congrats on the opportunity as MANY still struggle to get a job, let alone a career opportunity. Everything is temporary and ONLY adds to your depth of knowledge & skill. If weather is really that big of a deal I as an employer would not consider your application. Congrats!

Used to hunt in Hettinger, ND every year. Lots of game there. Funny story...after a long morning of shooting pheasant, someone in our group mentioned that a McDonald's egg mcmuffin sounded really good. Our host's teenage son, looked at us in confusion. He had never been to McDonald's, only seen commercials for it on tv. Hard to imagine an area of the US that remote, but ND is just that.

The infrastructure there is **** poor.
