    Minot, ND - possible move

HESS flew myself and my wife up for an interview and we'll be getting an offer (should be pretty good). While there, it was pretty cold and windy, but not too bad. Food was decent. We saw some deer and moose tracks while exploring around town.

Anyone have any experience, good or bad?

I hear bird/duck hunting is good and fishing is incredible. Truth? What about large game?

Lived at Minot AFB for a couple years........
    Be prepared,for cold weather..........
    When I say prepaired,,,,,I ain't kidding
Got down to -42.....And stayed there for two weeks......Snowed 7 inches on the 4th of July.....
    Windy 24/7......No trees...But good fishing........
Not all bad tho....Made a ton of money shoveling snow.

I've had a few buddies throughout the years cycle through Minot. Its ok, cold and colder. They enjoyed it, but they were homebodies.

Make sure you have a place to live before you go....... and realize you are going to pay big money for mediocre housing. Good Luck.

Had 3 Cousins do some time up there with O&G. One of them only lasted 8 weeks.

Cold is an understatement - That's not the correct word for that level of freezing.

You'll make good money, but your wife won't enjoy it.

I have a friend that was stationed in Grand fork, and after hearing his stories and seeing pictures i do not want anything to do with that state.

Two inches of clothes, one inch of hose, now that's a problem
