It looks like it took the end of your thumb clean off!

Did you have to pick your thumb tip up off the ground, or was it still attached?

There was about a 1/4" flap holding it on.

I climb trees for a living so I needed it to heal as fast as possible. Otherwise I may have gone the duct tape and guaze route.

Ouch!!! They really need to design an adjustable forward grip for these things to keep people's fingers below the cable!

Luckily when I did it My thumb was facing towards the front of the bow and I only got a black thumbnail for a couple of months. Crossbows are dangerous

I don't know how crossbows work, so I can't really picture what happened... I do know how thumbs work though, so I see the problem.

You don't realize how important your thumb is till its down for recovery time. I jacked mine up pretty bad at work about 15 years ago and it was not fun at all. Hope it heals fast bud.
