I agree. If you're on a budget get something like RTIC, Ozark, Atlas, etc. No problem.

If you aren't, why buy a chinese Yeti when you can buy from local, veteran owned, made in the USA companies like Taiga or Icehole Makes zero sense to me

My wife got me a RTIC for Fathers Day and I got it just last week. The only thing I don't like about it is I now have the urge to defend any and all RTIC threads and announce I didn't pay full price for it.

For the 3% or so of members out there where price is no object, I completely agree.

For the rest of us poor schmucks, we will be shopping RTIC, Ozark Trail, WalMart................

they were, you are talking 2% a year on $200-300... So $4-6 whole dollars/3 since it just 4 months... So $1.25-2. I seriously doubt that's happening... Nor is it even worth worrying about.

It would be even less when you consider it would be on their margin/profit if they are paying up front for just cost. Again minimal but probably zero considering they are paying salaries and accruing expenses while they wait for delivery.
Its not just my order, think of the 1000+ orders that are back ordered for months. A local furniture store got caught doing this a few years back. They had a lead time similar and it was part of their "custom" pitch. They made millions over the years until they got caught.

                  Just a thought.

LOL...I am well aware that there is more than your order....

$1-$2 per cooler think about that.........I seriously doubt R-Tic is making anything off interest when they are a startup company and have to pay salaries and various other expenses. If interest rates were higher, it might be worth it, but with interest rates at what they are today, I doubt it. And the Chinese probably want their money up front.

This, I doubt the payments they have to make to the Chinese manufacturer is "on delivery". I'm pretty sure it is upfront. You pay RTIC, they turn around and pay China. With the difference (profit) they pay their overhead, including salaries. They aren't making money off of your "prepayment" money. What it is allowing them to do is NOT go out to the 3rd party market and borrow money from investors or sell equity to have the operating capital they need to run the company while the product ships. They may still need to do that, but it would be for other reasons. Maybe their sales still aren't high enough. Either way, Smart is right cause they aren't making squat off of having your money upfront.

I ordered a 65Q last year and the plastic is pulling away from the insulation on the bottom and sides. I am working with them now for a replacement.
