    Dog with swollen face?

Came home today from work and my 4 month old lab has a swollen left cheek. Just checking with the gs to see if anyone has had that happen? I don't think he has been bitten by anything. But he is getting in his adult teeth, could that cause swelling?

Maybe something stuck in the gum, but had similar problem it turned out to be a wasp sting for my dog

My chihuahua had that happen when he was a pup.
We thought he had been bit by a spider.

Took him to urgent care and they said he was bit by something and gave him a shot of Benadryl.

Was he outside today? Stung by something? How about his gums, all pink looking?

my first two thoughts would be check gum line for possible tooth problem, or look for a puncture or two from a snake. hope that helps.

My guess is a bite snake, spider, wasp, bee or fire ant.

That happens to my lab often. He has a habit of chasing red wasps and biting them.

Same as above.....its possible to have been stung by a bee or wasp, or bitten by a spider. I have came home to my boxers with some serious swollen faces!! Throw them some Benadryl and its all good!!

Give him some Benadryl. 1mg per 10 pounds of body weight. It'll give him some relief.

This^^^ My border collie does the same. Anything flying, she can catch, gets crunched regardless of the pain.

Could be an absest. Dogs have tooth infections too.

I have a feeling it's not a tooth issue cause he scarfed down his food as usual and has been chewing on his toys as well. Last night he did want to go outside every 5 minutes and I caught him trying to catch different flying insects. Maybe he caught one he shouldn't have.

Any chance he told his wife those jeans are getting harder and harder to fit in to? I know that made my lip and face swell up quick!
