It's a holes like this that give honest loggers a bad name. Good luck, and I hope you get your money out of this worm.

I don't honestly think we will get any money out of him.

State police had a meeting with or were suppose to (he was 30min late when I spoke with them) to inform him that he had 90 days to fulfill the contracts or face multiple felony charges.

I honestly don't want him back on my property.

Timber theft is good for three times the value of the timber removed plus cost of other damage to the property so it adds up fast. And no I would not let him set foot on your property again. Was there any damage clauses in the contract?

There was no damage clause, just a release of liability if one of them were hurt during the work.

I had stressed to him that any damages needed to be repaired that day since we run cattle. He agreed.

This whole thing was an extremely fast process. There was honestly no time to think of the possibilities after signing the contract. My mistake, and it won't happen again.

But now that I look back on it, everything seemed fishy and it now all makes sense.

Ok, so State Police had a meeting with this guy.

He is going to be given 45 days to pay the money owed on the timber that he hasn't paid. If said money is not paid in 45 days a felony warrant will be issued. He is not required to return and finish the work since no parties wish for him to step foot on the property.

At the end of the 45 days I can have an estimate done to find out how much it will cost to clean up and fix the 2 fences he broke. Submit that to the state police in hopes of criminal charges to be filed for that.

hang him high. Hopefully this will put him out of business. but I wouldn't be suprised if he is doing this to someone else so he can pay you what he owes.
