Pics, as well as even your own eyes, can be very deceiving. I bought a scale the morning I shot my biggest boar ever, specifically to make sure myths didn't spawn.

This fella tipped the scale right at 240lbs.

He's a good one but not a giant. Biggest I've killed was 385 and that "was" on scales. But for a reference. With his hind legs attached to a gambrel and stretched out he pushed 8' to the top of his nose. Most woulda called em 500+ on the Internet.
