As a small landowner in leon county, I wish the rifle buck season was shorter. Maybe a couple of weeks. Or the county was bow only. We have very few legal bucks that run the gauntlet for two months and survive.
After 35 years there I have given up seeing a buck that is six years old.
Bow season is Good there with prerut and rut really fun in late October.
BTW I love to hunt deer and have always had a season lease in south Texas where the management allows deer to age.
No January season for me. Rant over.

Maybe the proposed changes to doe harvest this coming season will help alleviate some of these kinds of issues.

Forget adding to the end of the season.....I'd much rather see a week long early season in late August/early Sept to try and get a velvet buck. Just like Kentucky and lots of western states.

Hell just make it year round. If you can't kill them in the season you need to work on your skills not the season length. Just saying, we have one of the longest seasons in the US.
