I would like to inquire if you have any tools for automotive or home repair that you are considering throwing away or discarding for any reason that could be donated to me? Even if it is just a screwdriver. I don't care about the condition as long as it is still useable. I listed the tools at the bottom that I could use - just any of them would be helpful if you have any of those you might be getting rid of.
I broke my back in a skydiving accident and the surgery went bad and I reside in a powered wheelchair now. I have not been able to work and my doctor said I would not work again. I could not pay my bills and went into foreclosure and the Sheriff showed up, locked up my home and auctioned off everything I worked so hard getting over the past 35+ years. My home, tools - everything. It has been a very difficult transition in my life but I always stay positive.
I'm 50-years old now and I have a lot of pride. It's very difficult having to ask for help. I was a very active person who enjoyed the outdoors, aviation, hunting, fishing, automotive and home repairs and served in the US Army in 1984.
I've been reaching out to big organizations that help people with medical issues and struggling in life, but I still haven't heard from anyone. I've tried Walmart, Bill Gates Foundation, Ellen DeGeneres (she had a special show giving away a vehicle and said to write-in and state why you need a vehicle), Oprah, T. Boone Pickens in my state of Oklahoma and so many others.
I received a donated 1999 Nissan Quest van that doesn't run but it had no wheelchair lift. The local mechanic said he could fix it and conned me out of what little money I had and it still won't run. Overheating and a vacuum leak I believe. Without my tools I can't check, diagnose or fix it myself.
I apologize for the long post and hope you can forgive me. I'm not some scam artist. I can provide references, medical records or anything else you might need. It has been rougher on me mentally being caged up inside the house 24/7 not being able to do anything or go anywhere without a wheelchair vehicle.
My tools meant everything to me. I can't afford a mechanic, contractor or handy man so I have to do what I can myself. Mentally, it would be great to be able to do things around the house and the tools would help with that.
Tools I lost and need:
Toolbox (large, small, dented or rusted), Air Tools - ratchets, impact, saw, grinder, nail guns for brad, finish, roofing, sanding, painting. Air Compressor hopefully in the 12-15cfm range that could handle everything from painting, sanders etc. Corded/Cordless Power Tools - tile saw, table saw, mitre saw, planer, drill press, cut off, drills, grinders, jig saw, sanders, routers, reciprocating saw, levels, safety equipment and welder (mig, tig). Also
automotive tools (sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers etc).
Also, if you know anyone in the industry that may be able to help with a wheelchair lift (a hydraulic lift mounted to the frame could work as well), a running donated van, truck or SUV (any year, condition or mileage) that could support a powered wheelchair or an off-road wheelchair like the Action Trackchair with tank treads please let me know. I'm a truck guy so that would be even better (50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's or anything).
If there is anything you could possibly help out with I would be very grateful - even if it was just a single screwdriver.
Thank you and have a great day.
