    Chevy 6,0L V8

I'm looking at buying another spare truck. I have found a couple in College Station. One is a half ton 4x4 with the 6.0 and the other is a 2500 4x4 with a lift and bigger tires. Just trying to get some input on these as far as Gas mileage, good/bad. I've been a dodge guy since 2000 and I'm not replacing the dodge just looking for a extra truck with four doors. Thanks.

I also don't want this to be a dodge/Ford/Chevy bashing either.

I was supposed to get a new truck when my training was done with this new gig...but, being that I'm in the NG industry I had to take what was available.

I'm driving a 2011 3/4 4x4 6.0 that just turned 200k miles...it runs like a top & I'll monitor the mileage for you. I put 250-350 miles per day on it. 80% of it highway.

I've always heard the gas mileage was terrible on the 6.0 but I don't have any experience with it.

My duramax gets 16-18MPG though, so I'm sure that's a wash if you get 12-14 in the 6.0 .

I have a 2006 2500hd with 90k and a 6.0 with 4.10 gears. With 33" tires I get 8 to 10 mpg. Closer to 8 pulling a trailer but I'm pretty disappointed power wise when towing, I'm hoping a tune up will help.

I have an 07 half ton Silverado with the 6.0 and gas milage sucks about 13-14 in town. Maybe 14-15 highway..

I've got a '15 2500 4X4 with the 6.0l engine. I was always under the impression that the 1500 had either a 5.3 or the 6.2. Either way the 1500 will probably have shorter gear ratio than the 2500 with the 6.0. The tall rear end in mine causes it to run 11 - 12 around town and if I take it easy on the highway I can get 15 - 16. More often than not though, I don't take it easy on the highway and get around 13 - 14. It's got plenty of power and lots of low end torque.

                      Had 2006 and currently have a 2012, both 4x4 2500's with the 6.0. Mileage on both 12-14.

Had a 2010 3/4 ton and it gkt about 12mpg highway/town mox. Around 9-10mpg pulling a 16' lowboy with whatever on it. Great truck, traded it with 117,*** miles because I started comuting 150 miles daily.

And they arent a power house by any means if you ask me. It will get the job done, but you might as well out it in manual and 5th gear to do it. Do that and it really helps a LOT.

Have a 01 2500hd pushing 300,000. power wise I would not be a good judge cause I hook up to heavy stuff with it and its a slug. Highway I get 12-13 unloaded when i drag something heavy i dont bother figuring gas mileage. Motor is solid tho.

Had a 08. It was a great truck but got 10-12 mpg with or without trailer.
