Diesel is lots of maintenance and higher at the pump...if you don't need it, walk away.

Just get one. I would but I'm still cranking out miles out of this 7.3.

Talk you out of it? Ok, my last work truck blew the motor at 180k. My opinion extends beyond that but if we're just trying to get you not to there's that lol

            Don't buy a Powerstroke 6.7

            There, did that do it?

If you are going to complain about gas/diesel prices don't even buy a truck.

Buy what you want to buy and be happy.

                  I like having a diesel.

                  So I have one.

                  It pulls great.

It's big and noisey and smells a little.

Costs more than gas, sure glad I bought a truck worrying about gas mileage.

If ease of pulling is a concern- the first time you snatch onto that 24' bayboat with a diesel you'll be asking why you didn't do it sooner.
400 hp & 800 ft/lb of torque = gotta use the cruise or you'll look down and be doing over 80- while towing.

If you don't NEED a diesel, than it just comes down to personal preference.

I drove a duramax for 4 years and rarely pulled anything, it was just my daily driver. I decided to sell it at 125k miles, before it needed anything major.

I admit I was worried about something breaking on it, diesel mechanic told me what the average repair cost was, didn't sit well with me.

Honestly I just missed driving a gasoline engine.

Best I can tell you is go drive one, I probably wont buy another one unless I decide to buy a fifth wheel travel trailer, most things my Tundra with the maxtow package can handle.

That 6.7 is a beast and the best diesel I have been in.

I had the 7.3 , but I love my 6.7. Great mileage and plenty of power to pull our 5th wheel trailer.
Go for it and never look back.

Maintenance is definitely more expensive than a gasser.

                            Oil change $129.00
                            Fuel & air filters $210.00
                            Transmission flush $207.00
                            DEF $25.00
                            Tire rotation $25.00

I am a die hard Powerstroke guy (if you havn't noticed) but I would stray away from the '11 & '12. They hadn't quite figured out that dual compressor in a single housing yet and they have thrown a lot of turbos and caused some serious damage. I would look at nothing older than a '13. I guess Ford tweaked those turbos a little and it doesn't seem like they mess up as bad. Ooooorrrrr just drop one of the 76mm VGT out of the 2015's in there
