Update on Bubba
Here is the latest on Big Bubba ( Ron) ... Sorry I have taken so long to do this! 12/30/08
Bubba spent 4 weeks at Baylor Rehab in Dallas then was sent home. He has about 50% range of motion in his left shoulder/arm/hand and has a walking cast on his left ankle/foot area. He has a walker and cane and is able to get around somewhat.
He was told this week to expect another 2 1/2 months of rehab and another 6 weeks in a walking cast. Bubba is getting tired of going rehab in Dallas every day from 9:00 to 3:00 and wants to back to normal right now. I tell him to stay strong and fight hard and try to keep his spirits up everytime we talk.
Bubba is on numberous meds and I hope they are the reason for the change in his personality and not the brain injury, it seems like I have lost my best friend as he is just not the same. My wife ( Christy) keeps telling me it has only been around 8 weeks since the accident and it will take time for him to heal, but I want him back the way he was before the accident!
Please wear your safety harnesses/straps when you are in a tree stand, there was one in the stand Bubba fell from but he was not wearing it.
I have taken Bubbas son Kyle ( Kyleboy) hunting a couple of times since the accident and it has been good for the both of us.
Please keep Bubba and his family in your prayers and he still has alot of work ahead of him.
Lisa keeps the caringbridge website ( look under bubbacarney) updated and if ya'll get a chance post a note.
Thanks. Tim Fortner (engine4on)
