I'm not a fan of the IRS either. I hate messing with the boots on the CV shafts. Twice more things to maintain. Solid axle is more stout IMO and won't squat as much with a trailer or load on the back rack.

I also see no one mentioned Kawasaki. The specs on the "brute force" look good.
IMO when lookin at IRS theres pros and cons. The pro is obviously the ride. However when you load them down they tend to squat and you loose ground clearance. For a work horse straight rear axle and shaft drive is where its at
If it were me Id be looking for a rubicon or a rincon. And I currently own a polaris

I have owned several Honda 300 fourtraxs. IMO and I'm sure quite a few others it's the best bike ever made. Perfect size and they just don't stop.

I have a 2006 350 fourtrax now that was rode hard before and after I bought it a few years ago...you cant kill'em...
