For numbers - hill country and west of San Angelo.
For overall quality and big bucks - South along the Rio Grande
For big average deer - North of Palo Duro Canyon/Pease River area on the alfalfa and peanut fields.

In the panhandle along a river or live creek that has a mixture of mule deer and whitetails.

I hunt west of Freer currently, but if I ever lost the lease I'd move to the hill country. It's beautiful country.

I am addicted to big country, being able to hunt many thousands of acres. So I am into the National Forests, mainly the Sabine National forest and the Public Hunting Lands. I would not mind going to the Davy Crockett national Forest.

                          Where would you go?

                          Golden Triangle of South Texas.

Best Whitetail Hunting to be had. No lack of numbers and they're big.
