Duck Commander Duck Picker or Camo Max.

Cheap, easily available, and sound good.

I typically stay silent while the goofballs 300 yds away massacre an attempt to call. Bump the mallard machine, and they drop right in.

If you don't know how to run a call then stay quiet and/or learn to use a whistle.

^^ Yep. I'm a very capable caller. But almost exclusively use nothing but my whistle now. So many duck dynasty rejects out there blasting highballs and sky busting the ducks are learning.

for the past 4 years my lanyard has had an original RNT acrylic, an old wooden duck commander and a cut down OLT. never needed anything else.

My go to is a Wylie Duck call. It's the predecessor to the flextime calls. Has custom reeds in it that I cut years ago. Just sounds good.

                              my lanyard has the following:
                              1) haydels whistle- cheap, effective pintail trill, wigeon whistle, teal peep... natural, natural, natural use it 95% of the time

                              2) Haydels gadwall GW-01. perfect gadwall tat-tat again, natural seems to help some days are rarely hurt.

                              3) Haydels blue wing. sharp quacks... rarely use... but helps

I hunt the coast, and public brackish marsh. No greeenheads down here and calling seems to hurt much more than help.

Location is 98% of duck hunting and being on the X overshadows bad calling.
I would rather be in the right location with NO call than a marginal location with the best callers in the world
