Top notch. Every guide was great and the lodge and food were awesome
Eric Rue runs a great operation. Calcasieu( Big Lake) is completely different than fishing Venice though.

Like said above, not even close for fishing - Louisiana for quantity and quality. We have caught several 28 - 29 inch trout under the lights on my buddy's pier on Calcasieu. It gets downright silly there sometimes.

Drive to NOLA for a day or two and then on to Venice for some fishing, either in shore or off shore, maybe both. You won't be disappointed

Paradise Plus Guide Service out of Buras, La. It's a few miles north of Venice.

                  Anthony Randazzo (504) 628-4526.

We have gone the last two years and will continue to make at least one trip a year there. Fishing is crazy. It will totally spoil you. All of his staff have been great people. And he's married to my cousin. First class operation all the way. Our kids are 4 and 8 and always have a blast down there.

As much as I love the Texas coast, my best trips over the years have been to Grand Isle La. One of my wife's childhood friends has a house there and every time I've gone the fishing has been incredible!

Fishing Venice is great and a lot of fun whether you stay in close or head 50 miles offshore. Fishing is the ONLY thing to do in Venice though. Lol

Fished against Randazzo for years. He is a great fisherman and has a nice place. Forgot about him till you mentioned it. Lloyd Landry has a nice operation in the same area.

Saltwater fishing is great along the entire cost of Louisiana.

                                I'm partial to fishing here: 29.822377, -89.661753
