I will always be partial to texas saltwater fishing.

With that being said, the best fishing I've ever done was in Lousiana! That's saying a lot because I've fished in Alaska and Hawiaii.

Not a blanket statement, but, Louisiana for quantity, Texas for quality.

yes. the fishing in Louisiana is awesome and I'd take it over Texas fishing any day of the week. It can feel like fishing in a barrel sometimes. In my ranks..Venice for offshore, Cocodrie, Big Lake all offer some amazing fishing.

I have fished both a lot and always had a great time. I would pick LA. or Texas for bay and off shore fishing.

Louisiana all day long! I have fished every port from south padre to Key West. The Missisippi River delta is incredible. There are some great lodges around Venice La. Your kids would have a blast. If you were seeking only a monster trout then I would target Baffin to Mansfield. If you fish La. in the summer it is very common to boat 100 trout in a couple hours. Good solid fish too? We always considered 20 slot reds a great tourny day in Texas. Most tourny days in Louisiana would be 60+ slot reds. Mike Frenette and Ryan Lambert both have great lodges down there. Food is excellent as well. Let me know if you have any questions about places.

There is a reason why they have wheel barrows at all the cleaning docks in Louisiana!

What time of year are you thinking about? Late June once the river level drops is a perfect time. Ponds are full of reds and trout are piled up on the outer banks. Everyone should go down there and have that experience once in their life. Easy drive to New Orleans if you want to spend an afternoon there.

I fish em both and i personally like lousiana better.

You can find good quality fish in lousiana just like Texas with the exception of the lower coast where youre going to find more giant trout.
