    Deer Jerky Recipes?

Just got a dehydrator, and I'm going to try my hand at some deer jerky? Does anyone have a recipe they're willing to share?

I'm no pro but I cut mine about 1/4" thick. Lately I've been using the allegro maridnate. Soak over night. Takes about 7-8 hrs on the dehydrator.

i just throw in the kitchen sink and let marinade 48 hrs lol. Slice about 1/4" thick. Soy sauce, teriyaki sauce (thick kind), brown sugar. red pepper flakes, black pepper, garlic and onion powder. Savory and slightly sweet with a little kick. I also shake on some more red pepper flakes before it goes in.

4 bottles or 60 oz is soy sauce
1 20 oz can of crushed pinapple
                  2 tsp hickory liquid smoke
                  1 cup brown sugar
                  1 tsp garlic salt
                  1 tsp onion powder

Brine atleast 24 hrs then throw it in the dehydrator or you can drain and grind for your jurkey gun.

                  pepper to taste.

Teriyaki - This is all I really do. Should be good for about 3 lbs of meat. I marinade for at least 24 hours.

                          10 oz soy sauce
                          1 cup red wine
                          1 cup brown sugar
                          2 tbsp liquid smoke
                          1 tbsp garlic powder
                          1 tbsp onion powder
                          1 tbsp black pepper

Gotta get a hold of some of Blakes stuff. Just too many thumbs up over it.
I have used Mr.Yoshidas gourmet sauce. It is like a teriyaki. I find it in Costco in 2 bottle packs. Cut the meat to 1/4 pieces let marinate over night or even a few days. I run my dehydrator at 144deg for 4 hours and Walaa! Jerky is still a bit moist this way. I don't like chewing on leather.

                              jerky

I also use Allegro. Cut about good 1/4" thick across grain, flatten out good with
tenderizer mallet, marinate overnight, season before it goes on dehydrator. About 6 hours on high setting (155 degrees I think).
