Open invite for a duck hunt Tuesday the 12th. DFW area

Hoping this last front brought in some fresh birds. The last front brought in some pretty stupid birds. They all came crashing into the spread.

Im finally transitioning to my late season spread of a 3 decoy jerk rig, and a dozen assortment of whatever birds Ive seen when scouting.


Huge difference from when we have the room to run a migration spread in the early and mid seasons. 6-7 dozen decoy spread, 2 wing spinners, a pulsator and 2 wonder ducks.

We only had 10 decoys out, one of which was a mojo and the other a feeder. You are right about the calling though. They wanted nothing to do with it. We would have groups of a dozen or more circle for minutes and if you tried calling they would jettison. We picked all ours up with singles or groups of 4 or less. That were coming in no matter what anyway.

First time ever that I've been duck hunting was about two weeks ago. Same thing. Everyone was calling any groups that came in, and everyone of them took off. It wasn't until we were just shooting the bull that someone would notice a group key up on the decoys. Then we'd start shooting. They just needed to shut up.

I hope yall have more luck than I've been having! We haven't had a banner year up this way. It'll be good for a few days then flat. Plus the woods are too deep in a lot of places which is a MAJOR bummer. Surely this cold snap will help.
