Been using the stuff for around 15 years now. I'm 33 years old, and I'm ready to quit. I love the stuff, it's great, but I'd like to stick around for my youngin's. Any advice on putting it down would be great.

Lots of stuff on here about this topic. Only thing that worked for me was cold turkey. I quit July 21, 2014 after over 30 years. Lots of seeds and gum helped some. Still get the urge for a dip, but not as bad as it was. Good luck

You've got to be mentally ready. My daughter's birth is what prompted me. I used the nicotine gum and patches. (Yeah, I know you're not suppose to, but dip has a lot of nicotine in it.) I then started backing down. First to lower level patches. Then to gum only. Then to lower strength gum. Took about over 4 months to get to zero nicotine. But I did it, and I feel a lot better.

Friend of mine quit smoking with Chantix. He said it worked great. Wellbutrin/Zyban is an antidepressant that is also used to help quit nicotine. I didn't use either, but apparently they work.

P.S. I still want a dip from time to time and I quit over 10 years ago.

You can also try the non nicotine snuff.. Had a buddy do that and it worked for him

Good luck man. It will be a fight, but one you can win. My BIL, dipped and smoked all of his life beginning as an early teen. Was with him this Christmas. Now has COPD, emphysema, loosing weight, can barely talk. Broke my heart! Do whatever it takes to win this fight.
