I have 2011 duramax. I'll be waiting on this sensor to go out. I've had others go out and just about ****s it down when they do. Right now stability control needs service, WTH is that. Never had these problems with my 1999 power stroke. Right now I wouldn't own another GM product. I'm sure they are all like this.

We've had problems with all of our Chevy's at work. Pretty much everyone has had to go into the shop for DEF problems. I'm thinking its a flaw in the DEF system.

          Sounds like a Chevy issue!

DEF fluid has a shelf life and it has to be stored properly or it goes bad !

I have a 2013 Ram 2500 and had a slew of problems with DEF fluid, tank, sensors, etc. I ended up have the system removed and PC delete - problem solved 100%. Before the delete kit - I had my truck in the shop every month or so with 02 sensors, pc upgrades, DEF issues. I got stuck in limp mode 2x's - major PITA. I had a good dealership and they told me some of the same things posted on this thread. One thing they said pushed me to do the delete kit was that the DEF fluid needs to be stored at room temp and not the garage. I found that a little hard to believe as Walmart/SAMS store it in their warehouse and I'm sure Peak doesn't keep it air conditioned while transporting. Either way - It seemed to be a recurring issue and others were having the same problem. My biggest concern is that while driving to our lease there are several spots in which we don't have cell signal and would be a long walk to the nearest station... couldn't afford to get stuck in limp mode on the way to the lease.

Good luck and I hope Ford, GM, and Dodge get the problem fixed for you. I will tell you that it has been great since I had the work done on my truck. The MPG's haven't improved or declined but the performance is better.

A Chevy has a shelf life.

It's like six months before they start costing you money.

                Never again for me....

DEF, extra filters, sensors etc........all reasons it no longer pays to have a diesel anymore.

Only way I'd go back is if I could get my 03 or 98 Cummins back. Don't miss the durajap a bit

Gotta love the EPA. My 2012 F250 hated itself until I deleted the DPF and EGR. 1100 lbs of torque and 650 hp and still can get 20mpg.

All the trucks have def issues. They are all using the same parts for their systems. I haven't had any issues yet on my 15 but once it does it won't be long before I delete it. Especially with the new trans tune that ppei just came out with

I know there's a lot of threads on deleting and I will look them up but give me a quick answer....

I want to get rid of the DEF system and whatever other crap is on there. I pull horsetrailers a and hay trailers with this truck so I do not care about making it a hot rod. What's the best route to go? Does it really need a programmer or can the shop that takes all the emissions crap of just remap the computer?

It's basically the same thing but you don't want any old jack wagon doing it.
