Bring the perch but there's a ton of shad in the river right now.

No perch can be brought - that qualifies as food! Only utterly inedible bait like stinkbait is legal!

It's best to just seine them once we're there. :-D

Honestly do we need to worry about snakes? I have only been attending this hunt for 4-5 years and it has always been cold.

I wouldn't worry about snakes, but that's me. With the temperatures we've had they may be out, so there is a chance of running into one.

Anything bigger than a minnow is considered food, so NO! Bring a cast net or some really small hooks...

Rats rules not mine, I will have a minnow bucket full of river minnows that I will seine at boat ramp and bring 2 cast nets...perch isn't the best bait right now anyways, it's fresh shad or big spottails strung on for cats..

I don't usually worry about the rattlesnakes either but I almost got bit fishing at the spillway last yr. Just watch where u step..either way rattler tastes fine fried! And if u get bit in the balls or buttocks Sackett will suck out the poison! Bahahahaha

All day lately.......but been doing pretty good on the whites from first light until about 10am, but they are letting out a little water at georgetown it looks like because yesterday the river was up a foot and a little cloudy....needless to say we will have a fish fry!

I have done pretty good with small piggie perch, but rules are rules! I can throw a net pretty **** good or help seine if needed.
