The new epidemic is that after they burn their heads up on meth and cannot function normally they get on social security disability since they can't hold down a job! Draining a system they never paid into! Meth is a catalyst that not only destroys life, but drains tax payers money in the criminal justice system and social programs! Once again the people that do pay for the mistakes of those that don't!

Just because a legitimate drug is being abused by a percentage of its users doesn't mean that it should stop being prescribed or used. My daughter is 9 and in public school, I guess I better start checkin her backpack to make sure she hasn't moved up to meth!
Effectively enforce the laws we have in place instead of creating new laws that don't do anything but make some lawmaker feel good and win them votes from their supporters that wanted another new "feel good" law being passed! People are going to abuse anything that they choose to whether it's aspirin to enemas (yea, look it up geesh). Do we need to make possession of Bayer Aspirin a felony?

Spice, K2, Cush, etc... are all names for synthetic forms of marijuana like substances. These substances somewhat resemble marijuana and are commonly smoked in a similar fashion. The issue is that they are made in a lab with a bunch of harmful chemicals, many of which cause unpredictable physical responses to ingestion. For a while this stuff was legal since they were able to skirt the THC (the illegal chemical component of marijuana) aspect of the marijuana laws. Several years ago, many of the chemicals contained in these synthetic substances were outlawed under the Texas Health and Safety Code (drug laws). The game the producers of synthetic marijuana like substances play is that they are constantly altering the chemical make up of these products. As soon as they can produce it with chemicals that aren't currently illegal, its legal to sell/possess again until the Legislature updates the Health and Safety Code to include these ever evolving chemical compounds.
I have seen my fair share of people under the influence of synthetic substances such as Cush, K2, etc... Let me tell you, this stuff can cause terrible reactions when consumed and often times causes people to act like they are under the influence of PCP. These people get very violent and become delusional and often times hallucinate. They are one heck of a fight when you have to get down and dirty and can hurt you very quickly.

Adderall Abuse
What Is Adderall?
Adderall is a combination of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine that is used primarily to treat the symptoms of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It has benefits with sleep disorders and reported, off-label utility in managing some forms of severe depression as well.
This drug is classified as a central nervous system stimulant, which means it speeds up and heightens certain bodily processes. Adderall is an oral medication prescribed by a physician who will normally start a patient on a low dose to avoid unwanted side effects, gradually increasing it as necessary.
Adderall abuse occurs in several ways including:
Taking a higher dose of the substance than prescribed.
Taking the medicine through a non-approved method like snorting.
Taking the drug for reasons other than medical need, such as to stay awake for long periods of time.
Taking the medication more frequently than prescribed.
Taking someone else’s medication.
Purchasing the drug from an illicit source for recreational use.
Doctors that prescribe this stuff should know better. Once a person is hooked on this stuff they go on to the meth.

Meth Heads
Originally posted by Johnny View PostUnfortunately, I have come to know what a meth head looks like very well. The area I live in used to be a very laid back country setting but over the years, trailer parks started squeezing in on the area. I've got 3 within a mile of my house. I had my golf cart stolen a few months back (as a few here might remember) and I went on a serious drive thru in the area getting the word out. I went through these trailer parks and good gosh almighty...words can't even to begin to describe what I saw once I got back in there pretty deep (and I was born and raised in Southwest Houston). They are absolutely riddled with meth heads. I see them every day now...either walking down the street or at the local gas station down the road. The look on their face is obvious...face sunken in, big eyes, skinny and looks like they haven't slept in weeks.
Just this morning at 7am, my lab is barking towards the road. My wife see's someone going by (my house sits 50 yards off the road with a little church across the street) walking beside a bicycle. I slip on my shoes and walk out to my front drive way with my lab. Across the street in the ditch is the bike and some dude is sitting near the front door of the church. He see's me and I yell out, "You need something home boy?" He starts walking towards me mumbling something. Man, he made me put down my nice hot cup of coffee on my fence post.I told him to hold up and repeat. As he got closer, I see the sunk in face and a big eyes...obvious meth head and as most are, a young man in his prime in his early 20's.
I've been on high alert since I was robbed...put in a ranch style fence along the road with gate and a big flood light that lights up my front acre like a stadium. At this point I did not feel like being compassionate. He said he was riding to work (some machine shop down the road I have never heard of) and they weren't working today which he didn't know. I asked him where he lived and he told me across the street from Conroe High School which is 3 to 4 miles away and on a crappy bike??? Hell no. I told him to keep on heading down the road asap. He high tailed it out of there.
I told my wife the conversation and she called me a hard azz and he probably needed a ride if he was telling the truth. It then hit me (thanks wife) that he could of stopped at the church and was sitting near the front door for a reason. By the looks of him, he definitely was in bad shape. I went against my better judgement, got in my truck and went and looked for him but couldn't find him. He was definitely a lost soul and needed help OR he was up to no good like I see a lot of these meth heads around here. I'm going with the latter.
Sorry, got a little off track. My question is, am I the only one seeing all these meth heads? I've known alcoholics, pot heads etc etc but this drug just tears down their appearance and I see them everywhere I go!
Unfortunately we have no shortage of crack and meth heads in Conroe and the surrounding areas. Even worse when you get further into East County. I worked as a Parole Officer for 4 years in Montgomery, San Jac and Waller counties and it's a real shock how many people are users.Last edited by kae006; 12-18-2015, 11:53 PM.
