    Mountain Lion killing our deer

Anyone have any advice on how to get a lion?
I've never hunted one, but I need too.

I'd try to call it in or trap it. It would be awesome to have one come to a call.

and INCREDIBLY rare... it happens (last year in Angelo Big Cat for example)

Not sure on legalities of trapping them...

I really think the dogs are the most constant bet...

Ps why do you need it gone? whats the story? Pics???

Dogs will be the best bet by far but you will need to find a fresh kill or track for most guys show up. Lions travel alot so might be on your place today and 20 miles away tomorrow which is why most houndsmen prefer to hunt a real fresh kill.

If the dog guy doesn't get him this week, we'll try the goat or call this weekend.
We put a camera on last nights kill and if he comes back tonight, the dog guy will be back tomorrow.

If you found a kill that it has buried, I would sit over it for a good long while. It's possible it's a female with cubs, they will stay in one general area while they raise them. That happened on our ranch and 3 lions ended up being killed and at least one other sighted. Dogs were brought in to kill two of them.
