Prayers up for you and your family. It was one of the hardest things I had to do. I have really only owned two dogs Neika a female Rottweiler and cocoa my female chocolate lab police canine partner. I cried uncontrollably both times! Cancer got both of them ( in the front leg)! Memories are your friend!!!

Today is the day I've been dreading....
Awe man!! I hate reading these threads especially when it deals with beagles. We recently lost our rescue beagle Bandit and I hurt for days. He dug his way out of our fence and he has yet to be found. We have searched and searched nights and days with no luck. He had a collar with tags so were guessing some POS picked him up and didnt call us.
We miss the little dude a lot.
Our other beagle Archie we got from Froggy and he is our boy. Im not sure how we'll handle losing him one day.
Here he is with a deer ear.

Thanks, guys. It wasn't easy at all, and I was his stand-in tech because everyone else had gone home. I was glad I could be there for him, though. I was the first face he saw when he finally had a home, and I was the last face he saw when he went.
My boy has already made the mention of going and getting a new dog tomorrow. I had already made the decision that we are going to be a pet free home for a while. My daughter took it a bit hard. My wife took it harder than she thought she would. So did I. But he's not fighting to breathe now. That's what is reassuring to me.
The one thing I'm going to have to talk to my kids about is the whole "do dogs go to heaven?". I know a lot of people who say yes, and some who say no. I know that scripture says that every living creature has the breath of life in it, so I'd like to say yes as well. And with how all animals, not just dogs and cats, have the personalities that they have, it's almost impossible to think that they just die.
