With the tradition and the media bias no way would I bet on them getting left out. I am just saying if you put all the teams down on paper you can make just a case for a ND, OU, and Michigan State as you can Bama.

If Bama is left out, I don't think it will be a travesty as many other people will claim it to be. I give it a VERY small chance of it actually happening.

FYI .... Regarding LSU and it's current situation: Miles is a dead man coaching

the recent record speaks for itself , prominent TAF boosters got tired of the mediocrity, Les' inability to adjust or change, and the same exact playbook year in and year out

1-9-12 got the ball rolling and the snow ball effect continued to show more and more support that Les had to go. He has very few supporters in his corner

      - 8-9 in the SECW since 2012

      - 13-10 in the SEC since 2012

      - 2nd highest paid coaching staff in the country

      - Top 2-10 recruiting classes each year

      - one of the worst passing offenses in CFB

      - one of the most undisciplined and most penalized teams in the SEC over the last several years

      - first time since 1999 LSU has lost 3 consecutive conference games

      - first time since 1966 LSU has lost 3 consecutive games by double digits

Miles gets paid $ 4.5M per year and cannot recognize his own coaching deficiencies and is to stubborn to make any changes. On paper LSU should be a 10, 11, 12 WIN team every year as Miles has delivered 8 win seasons and finished near the bottom of the SEC in back to back years . People with money have had enough and want change

After the Arkansas embarrassment Les said this loss was in him and took responsibility. Before the Ole Miss game and on national TV, he told reporters he had this team ready to play. In reality , this team has lost it's identity and has zero confidence. Boosters would accept a tough 24-27 road loss to a better opponent if the team was competitive for 60 minutes. However getting humiliated on national TV by 14, 16, and 21 points was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Miles will be shown the door and not coach in the Bowl game, coaching in his final LSU game vs. A&M is being decided on right now. Search committee has been in contact with agents and have their list of coaches to be interviewed . Jimbo's name has lots of chatter since he has ties / close friends in Baton Rouge and is going through the big "D". Other names to soon surface in next several days .

$$$ Money is no issue since TAF and boosters will pay the buyout , and the University won't have to pay a dime.

The feeling over the last several weeks has been a Salem Witch Trial ..... "Burn him, he's a witch ..." Sadly , there will be some feelings of remorse how this all went down. Winningest coach at LSU (78%) , great human being with a huge heart, and players who love the man. Unfortunately CFB is a business and Les did "less with more" over the last few years. No telling how the players and recruits will react since most will feel like they lost their dad

I've always been a Les Miles supporter from Day 1. My biggest fear is not knowing what the future holds since I was an LSU student and clearly remember the Curly Hallman, Mike Archer , Gerry DiNardo days when LSU sucked. I've always believed CFB is "cyclical" as it's been proven over time.

Firing or forcing out the winning coach of a NC team did not work out so well for TENN (Fulmer) , MIA (Coker), AUB (Chizik), John Cooper (tOSU), Mack Brown (TEX), and ALA (Stallings who actually resigned amid NCAA violations/sanctions and a new AD). Time will only tell if LSU rebounds

        I hear what you're saying.
In the event Florida is a one loss SEC Champion I would put a Lone Star on them getting in.

That would mean Florida has wins over Ole Miss, Bama, and FSU with their loss being LSU so they would be in the discussion.

He is not fired today, but he's a dead man walking. Tough for him to be run out there today having to take these questions knowing what is coming. I guess that is why he's making the big bucks.

That ***** AD from Baylor(?) was already in, sanctions were basically a done deal and Bockrath (AD) had already told Coach he had cost BAMA $5-8M with the loss to Ms St. Coach told the ***** what he could do with it and went to the Farm with his family and Johnny.

Every time BAMA looked for a HC after that, and there were a lot of times, I wished we would call Coach Stallings.

He still has to play the Ags whom give up 230 yards rushing per game on the average.

Some guy asking a 5 minute question at Les' press conference. ESPN cut the feed on him.
Must be the same guy I heard on Saban's last callin show before LSU ran CNS off.

You are assuming they can beat FSU. There's obviously a lot of parity, but it's hard to imagine Florida being one of the top 4 teams in the country this year.

What would happen to North Carolina if they beat NC State this weekend and somehow win against Clemson in the ACC championship game. That would sure throw a kink in things! What would the argument be to keep them out of the playoffs by knocking off the #1 team.

Bama is good but that loss is a bad loss and it must count for something.....

I hear ya. When You lose to Texas you shouldn't be ranked as high as OU is

Yes, I did cause he said a one loss Florida game winning the SEC. So he assumed, so I did too.
