    Warthog killed at Chaparral

    Anyone else hear this?

    #2
I assume they escaped from a local game ranch, but does anyone know the real story how they got there.

I've never heard of them being in Texas.

They are spreading more and more from what I hear. Congrats to the hunter and hope it gets mounted.

Been going around for awhile now

I think I read that Jack Brittingham brought them over and escaped and now are spreading.
It's the internet so who knows

Believe the Chap has a "shoot on sight policy" for them

When I hunted the Chap last year they said there might be a few there; they had pictures from a helicopter survey of one and weren't sure if it was still there or not. They did say that it had escaped from a nearby ranch but did not say who's ranch it was.

Yeah, my son was on a youth hunt there last year and we were told by the biologist that took us to our compartment to shoot a warthog if we saw it. I asked him to repeat what he said and i heard him right the first time. Been wondering when someone was going to smack one.

One more invasive species that needs to be gotten rid of!

A friend of mine shot one last week in the Cotulla area. Needless to say he was shocked!!! I will try and find the pic.

Cool! Would be lying if I said I didn't want those things spreading like wildfire in Texas
