I have not read many of the previous responses, but here is my take.

If it were me, I want a place to hunt that I can relax and enjoy, family or not. Sounds like you are uneasy about hunting there, so if we're me, I would ride out the season and bite my tounge. Come next year, I would find a new place with someone you enjoy spending time with.

Yea, funky rules coming from family that you are not closely related to. Sounds like you just need to keep the peace, then find somewhere else for next year. They are set in their ways, and those ways don't align with your ideology. Look for something else next year that doesn't involve family. Shoot a deer to get your money's worth this year, then move on

My take is that forty five acres is big enough to take about one deer every two to three years. Using that perspective, it only takes one part time hunter to accomplish that task. If the land owner is getting fifteen hundred a year for this "lease", he is making a killing. You made a bad deal. Don't make the same deal a second time.

Relax and enjoy what's left of the season. You have already spent your money so do the things the landowner has asked you to do and if you get the opportunity to harvest a deer, do it and move on to a place that is more to your liking.

Hunt your way out of there. On a side note...leave the 4 wheeler at the house on a 45 acre place unless you use it to feed after you've hunted for the weekend.
