    Smart TV question

we are looking at getting a smart TV, been looking at several different brands in the 60-70 inch range. LG, Samsung, Sony, Vizio

Looking for opinions on different brands, models, experiences, ect.

Samsung is the best imo. The next closest to Samsung would be Sony then LG. With a tv that size if you want a quality picture, I wouldn't even consider vizio. Samsung by far has the best picture. Again just my opinion.

Once thing to ask yourself is what you want to use it for. If you just want to watch Netflix and the such you may ook into a streaming box such as roku/apple tv/chrome cast etc. This would allow you to buy a non smart TV with higher quality picture, and for another 50-100 dollars get a streaming box with most of the functionality of a smart TV. Obviously these boxes can't do everything a smart TV can so you need to consider what you want out of it. I use my roku stick for music and Netflix almost solely. It can be controlled by my phone as well.

As far as picture quality, you can't beat Sony. I researched and visited numerous stores when buying our 4K and the Sony we bought was by far the best picture in the price range I was at.

I have a top end Samsung. Only reason ingot it is because my step son works for Best Buy and I got it for half price. I also have a 60" Visio and I honestly can't tell a difference in picture. The Visio was less that what I paid for the Samsung.

Just last week I bought a 60" Samsung. One thing I found in my research it is a good idea to buy a sound bar to go with it. As flat panels have gotten thinner it is harder for them to build-in quality speakers. I went with one of the least expensive sound bars at Best Buy - an LG for $200. It mounts under the TV, has a separate wireless woofer and is Bluetooth compatible. I have been very pleased with the TV and the sound is awesome compared to our old one. It is my first Smart TV so I am still learning all those features

Get a Samsung so while your watching TV they can watch you

We have been pleased with our Sharp Auqos TVs. Picture isn't like 4k or plasma but HD is HD to me. I have to admit I don't spend enough time in front of a TV to tell much difference between brands of the same type. Price wasn't really a problem when we were looking but they were still a bit cheaper than others and have been great so far and Ive got 3 of the 60" in the house.

We've had a 55" vizio for almost 2 years and it's been great. I think Best Buy had it on sale for $600ish. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another vizio

I have a Visio and it is great, I got a good price on it too. The built in wifi is terrible but my tv is a little older. Not sure what the difference is with the tv with more money. Most cable services signal output is below the capacity of your tv. I think it will be hard to use the max picture quality all the time. All the brands are durable I haven't ever heard of one breaking. I have an old Sony flat screen that I have had for ten years and can't get rid of because it still works

Are you getting an LCD ot a Plasma?

I prefer plasma, and they are cheaper. Panasonic and Samsung both score at the top for plasmas.
